Well I am now officially a Playstation 3 owner, as of the release of the MGS4 Bundle Pack. This was a long time coming and with the downfall of HD DVD, I knew the days were limited until I broke down and bought a PS3. With the inclusion of the MGS4 game and the new Dual Shock controller, the time was right.
Primarily, I think the system will serve as a Blu-ray player, but I am optimistic about the coming line-up of exclusive titles coming to the PS3. Either way in spending the last few days with the system I have found it to be a well thought out piece of hardware and a very capable gaming platform, as I have been most impressed with MGS4. Now granted I still have a few gripes with regards to the online play, and not having a unified online gaming experience, but it seems like some well needed changes are coming to address this.
Overall I am looking forward to spending more time with the system and getting to experience all of the functionality it has to offer as a gaming and multimedia device. It will take some time to get acquainted with the PS3, but I will most likely be sharing more of my thoughts in greater detail at a later date. In the mean time, I have some high-def gaming and movie watching to do…

Man, im in a fix, and maybe you could help me here…
My computer has hit the sack, totaly.
But I used it only for internet purposes, like conversation and downloads.
And I’m a real game fan, but I can’t find myself playing anything on a PC.
So I tought…
I’ll buy a PS3 and all solve all my problems!
Will I?
Maybe I’ll only find out after I buy one really…
But it never hurts asking an already PS3 owner.
Or maybe it will hurt depending on the answer lol.
Well I have three major questions:
-If download speed on a PS3 is the same on a PC?
-Is the PS3 internet browser as good as we would like to?
-And does any of the PS3 linux versions are worth and really functional?
Also I saw something about a software that could stream PC games, is it true?
Streammygame is the name of the software…
Well I hope you answer my question.
Thanks already!
I don’t think that I would go so far as to say that the PS3 can replace a PC, but if you were just using it to browse the Web it does work decently. I believe you can even use a mouse and keyboard with the system as well.
The downloads seem to work decent with my connection to the internet (cable broadband).
I have no experience with installing Linux on the PS3, so I cannot comment on that. You may be able to get some decent PC like functionality utilizing Linux on the PS3 though you will just have to research it a bit.
