“A Night at Sea” is an original composition created completely in Photoshop CS3, again as a project for one of my classes this term. This work showcases a combination of layer blending modes, gradients, custom brushes, and filters to achieve the final result as shown here.
The design was originally created at 300 dpi at an 8.5″x11″ canvas size. Here the work is presented at 72 dpi and a lower resolution more suited to the Web, though still adequately showcasing all of the creative elements.

I love the picture but I have no idea how you created it!! What “picture” did you start with? How long did you work to get the final result?
I started with a couple images I had on hand and basically brought them together in Photoshop and then blended and painted in other elements as necessary. Overall, probably about 6 - 8 hours of time invested in the process.
