In being the Star Wars “geek” that I am I most assuredly looking forward to Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed due to air this Memorial Day on the History Channel. In reading the description of the documentary it sounds as those this should provide some very unique insight into the lore of Star Wars and why its stories, characters, and imaginative qualities remain relevant still today.
The attraction of Star Wars for me stems from the combining of science fiction and fantasy, while accentuating strong messages founded in our everyday realities. Ideally, a source of inspiration and a means by which and individual can take away their own unique thoughts, feelings, and rationales. In my opinion, this is the true beauty of Star Wars as it presents a story that stimulates not only the imagination, but also how we may look towards the future.
It seems obvious that Star Wars is as popular now as it was 30 years ago as droves of fans still follow the saga through a great many forms of media ranging from books to video games. In this regard, there is something so inspiring and at the same time enlightening about the realization that a great many take so much from these varying sources; ones that speak the past, present, and future stories of Star Wars.
Star Wars was of course meant to be a form of entertainment and a means by which to tell a story founded in fantasy as well as conviction. And it is this passion for telling a story that continues to shine through most predominantly today.
So hears hoping we are in for some interesting discourse from Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed. I believe it will be interesting to hear from many popular figures of various backgrounds about their experiences as well as conceptions as to why Star Wars has stood the test of time and will most likely continue to do so in the future.
