Last night I ventured out with some friends to see this highly criticized and publicized movie based on the controversial book by Dan Brown. Director Ron Howard brings the story to the big screen in splendid fashion. Tom Hanks does a wonderful job of portraying a highly regarded symboligist who along with actress Audrey Tautou work to uncover a cover-up of extreme religious proportions. I have not read the book, but was genuinely interested in the story and have most always enjoyed the works of Ron Howard and Tom Hanks.
Despite some public criticism of both the novel and film, I found the movie to be very well done and the story to be very intriguing. If your a person that is able to accept this film as a work of fiction and a story inspired by events in human history than I feel this is a movie worth seeing just for the excellent story telling. My intent is not to go into a long winded review here as there is a great many topics of which could be discussed and debated with regards to this adaptation. This is just a brief post to simply share my take on the film in short and to offer forth an opinion only.
This is not a short movie, but given the content covered via the intense amounts of dialogue I found myself to be continually interested throughout the film. There is a lot of detail with regards to art, history and religion and I must admit it was overwhelming at times, but I was able to discern the main premise of the movie in the end. Overall this is a story worth indulging in and a film worth seeing if the topics mentioned hold any interest for you.
Now, I may just have to take the time to read the novel now as well!

Great review man! I was also extremely impressed with the movie. I’m a fan of the book and the movie did it justice. Of course some things have to be trimmed down or changed, but overall the feel of the book was present and made for an interesting, exciting ride!
